Direct from our Salcombe farm, each blanket combines our Devon Closewool with other premium British wools to create an heirloom-quality piece that improves with age, becoming softer and more supple with use.

Complete Farm-to-Finish Production
Every stage from sheep to finished blanket maintains quality and tradition. Our wool travels from our Salcombe farm to Yorkshire's historical mills for worsted spinning, which combs the fibres for perfect alignment. This technique creates stronger, finer yarn that's Z-spun and S-twisted. Master weavers in Bristol then create each blanket on traditional looms using an undulating twill structure, maintaining the highest standards of British textile craftsmanship.
Extraordinary Durability
Devon Closewool has demonstrated its resilience through a century of use in challenging weather conditions. The worsted spinning technique produces yarn that resists pilling and maintains its appearance through years of use. The dense weave (16 EPI/16 PPI) creates a hard-wearing structure that keeps its shape and character with daily use. Rather than deteriorating, these blankets actually become better with age.
Supporting Heritage Breeds
Our Devon Closewool and Herdwick sheep are traditional breeds adapted to our local landscape. By raising these heritage breeds and combining their wool with other quality British wools, we contribute to agricultural biodiversity while producing blankets with superior insulation and longevity.
